The protests of the fishermen continued in the city of Mukalla for the second day in a row. The streets of Mukalla witnessed various protests against the backdrop of the suppression of the strike by fishermen on Saturday by the elite forces of the UAE as well as the arrest of four fishermen for exercising their constitutional right to protest to reject their worsening living conditions and high prices of oil derivatives.

Due to the state of deep discontent in Mukalla, hundreds of protests were held on Sunday morning, whereas hundreds of demonstrators marched in solidarity with the detained fishermen against the dose of oil derivatives, refusing the suppress of freedoms and freedom of expression.

The protestors held a stand-in Al-Moukla court and called for the release of journalist, Awad Keshmim, who was arrested by the UAE and rejected all methods of repression practiced by the UAE forces.

In response to the arrest of four fishermen yesterday, the open strike continued for fishermen in all districts of Qusaier, Mukalla and Broom Meiva.

Observers expect the expansion of the strike and the rise of discontent against the UAE forces and practices of the UAE against the sons of Hadramout.
