The number of victims of the crime committed by the Saudi-led coalition against a wedding ceremony in Bani Qais district of northern Hajjah rose to 33 dead and 55 wounded, including women and children.

Yemen, on Monday, strongly condemned the horrific crime committed by Saudi-led coalition which targeted a wedding party in Beni Qais district of Hajjah province, the Ministry of Human Rights said in a statement obtained by Yamanyoon.

The Ministry of Public Health and Population also condemned the continuation of the Saudi-led coalition in committing crimes and killing civilians in social events, the latest of which is the crime of targeting the Bani Qais wedding in Hajjah province, the spokesman of the ministry, Abdul Hakim al-Kahlani said , adding “The silence of the United Nations encouraged the coalition to continue its massacres and targeting of social events and weddings, which resulted in dozens of dead and wounded civilians, especially women and children.”

For its part, the Yemeni Center for Human Rights condemned on Monday the massacre in a released statement. The statement said that this crime is not the first of its kind, whereas the US-backed coalition continues to target social events under an international silence.

Furthermore, an official source in Yemen’s government on Monday condemned yesterday the  massacre, calling on the United Nations and various international institutions to take their responsibilities and stand firmly against these crimes, which are a disgrace to humanity.

The Saudi-led coalition launched on Sunday evening two raids targeting a wedding in the house of Ja’far Musabi in the Raqqa village of Bani Qais.

Wedding parties in Yemen are often crowded with citizens, including children.
