Yemeni forces liberate strategic area from Saudi-led coalition

The forces of Yemen’s army and Popular Committees managed to retake strategic mountains in the Arabian Peninsula country’s northern province of al-Jawf from the Saudi-led coalition forces, media reports said on Saturday.
Yemeni troops took full control over the Qa’ita, a strategic mountainous range in al-Maton District in Jawf Province, the Arabic-language al-Masirah TV network quoted a military source as saying.
The forces managed to recapture all the positions of the Saudi-led coalition in the area, the source said.
The Qa’ita Mountains are of strategic importance, consisting of a number of hill-tops overlooking the main road between Maton and Hazem districts, the main supply line for the Saudi-backed mercenaries in the Maton.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the Saudi-led coalition for nearly three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against Yemeni people in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
