The Middle East Eye site said that political analysts are assuming that the purpose behind sending 1,000 Pakistani troops to Saudi Arabia is to guard the royal family.
According to the site, this precedent is not its first for Pakistan, in the early seventies, Pakistani forces in the Kingdom were present, because of the strong relationship between King Faisal, and Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
In addition, Pakistani forces also have came before to the kingdom in the 1980s, specifically in 1982, as a request from King Fahd, when they sent an armored battalion.
US political analyst, Bruce Riedel, said he believes the tasks of the Pakistani soldiers would protect and guard Prince Mohammed bin Salman and support the Royal Guard of the royal family.
Moreover, Riedel went on to say that during the past three years, Prince Mohammed bin Salman had created many enemies around him, including members of the ruling family.
