Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in London on Wednesday for his first visit that will last for three days amid protests against Saudi crimes committed in Yemen.
The streets and squares of London in the meantime are witnessing unprecedented demonstrations and protests, in which the voices in the streets of Britain and in its parliament are denouncing the visit of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, considering him a “dictator” in his country and responsible for the tragedies of civilians in the war on Yemen.
On Wednesday, Ibn Salman held talks with British Prime Minister Theresa May at the government headquarters after attending a luncheon hosted by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.
Al-Jazeera said that meanwhile, demonstrations have been launched by human rights organizations in London condemning the visit and rejecting the export of arms to Saudi Arabia. The demonstrators also called for an end to the daily raids conducted by the Saudi-led coalition on Yemen.
The protesters gathered outside the prime minister’s residence at 10, Downing Street, waiting for the arrival of the Saudi Crown Prince and waving banners denouncing a “war criminal” and demanding an end to the war on Yemen.
Moreover, British citizens, activists and human rights organizations launched a wide campaign on social media dubbed #Mohamed_Bin_Salman_in_Britain, whereas various pictures and videos went viral displaying mass British activists, civilians and humanitarian organizations holding demonstrations against Bin Salman’s visit, which they described as “a despot and a war criminal.”
