UNHRC: UAE Recruits Mercenaries in the War on Yemen: Report
Yamanyoon
The Arab Organisation for Human Rights in Britain has called on the UN Human Rights Council to form a special committee to investigate the UAE’s recruitment of mercenaries in Yemen.
During a seminar organized at the UNHRC in Geneva, the organization accused the United Arab Emirates of carrying out “indiscriminate attacks against civilians” during its criminal war along with Saudi regime against Yemen and its civilians.
Investigations have been opened to hold the UAE accountable for its administration of secret prisons in Yemen, where human rights investigations revealed that hundreds of prisoners are being subjected to ill-treatment and brutal torture.
According to the organization, cluster bombs were used by the UAE in the war on Yemen and it also recruited mercenaries to carry out torture and field executions.
On 27 November, the organization commissioned a law firm to file a formal complaint with the International Criminal Court demanding an urgent investigation into the UAE recruitment of armies of foreign mercenaries to carry out violence and slaughter citizens in Yemen.
The UAE has been the main ally to the Saudi regime in Yemen since March 2015, which has left thousands dead and wounded.
