The UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, expressed on TuesdaY condolences of the UN Secretary-General on the death of President Saleh Al-Sammad.
In a telephone conversation with Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi, the UN envoy voiced his regret for the assassination, which he said is condemned and a breach of international laws.
The deputy foreign minister stressed that the United Nations should play its role in curbing the Saudi-led war, which violated the international law and the values of peace by targeting President Al-Sammad.
Al-Ezzi noted that the coalition’s recent violations occurred as they target weddings and civilian installations without paying attention to the United Nations and its charters, which suggest a inhuman complicity with these crimes.
He also affirmed the right of the Yemeni people to defend their dignity and fair issue by all legitimate defense means.
