Yemen: 1200 Dialysis Patients Died While 9500 Others Are Endangered of Dying Due to Saudi Siege on Yemen

The Ministry of Health on Sunday appealed to international organizations to provide immediate solutions and devices for dialysis and kidney transplant patients.

In a Health Ministry statement, more than 2,200 kidney transplant patients require vital medications for their survival, and 7,300 patients with renal failure need renal replacement therapy in a specified time with a total annual requirement of more than 700,000 need renal replacement therapy in a year.

The statement added that the deficit exceeded 50%, where most of the kidney machines were disrupted and stopped functioning; in addition, many dialysis centers closed due to the deficit.

The Ministry of Health said that 1,200 patients with renal failure and kidney stones have died in the past few weeks as a result of the Saudi siege imposed by the aggressive coalition on Yemen, where the assaults on Hodeidah by the Saudi-led aggression, West coast of Yemen exacerbated the humanitarian situation.

The Ministry of Health held the international organizations responsible for the poor humanitarian situation in Yemen, which is considered to be the worst in the world, urging them to take quick actions in order to save the lives of the sick, who are dying every day.
