The Ministry of Public Health and Population announced on Saturday the death of the two children who are conjoined. This comes due to the lack of treatment and health care they received because of the imposed Saudi siege on the impoverished country.
The Ministry of Health said in a statement that the US-backed coalition led by Saudi Arabia refused to open Sanaa airport so that the two-headed infants can travel for treatment abroad, despite appeals launched by the ministry and doctors treating him.
“This tragedy comes to reflect the world’s worst humanitarian catastrophe that has majorly targeted the children of Yemen for nearly four years, since the beginning of the Saudi-led military campaign against Yemen and it siege, noting that dozens of civilians die due to the closure of the airport.
“The two children have been deprived of the right to live, although there was great hope that they would remain alive. We also hold the Saudi-led coalition responsible for their deaths, as well as United Nations,” the ministry said.
The ministry ended the statement by stressing that all organizations must speed up the rate of its response regarding any humanitarian issues in Yemen to reduce the incidence of more deaths.
