Ansarullah Respond to Britain and Washington’s Call for a Ceasefire in Yemen
Sana’a | October 16 | Yamanyoon
The official spokesman for Ansarullah and the head of their negotiating delegation, Mohamed Abdel Salam, stressed once againو today Sundayو that the total cessation of the aggression and lifting the siege on the Yemeni people is a prerequisite to the commencement of any negotiating process sponsored by the United Nations.
Abdul Salam said in a post on his “Twitter”: “Comprehensive Ceasefire by land, sea air and lifting the siege and air embargo are the demands of all Yemenis”
“Consultations in the light of the continued aggression is a waste of time”, Abdul Salam emphasizes.
Abdul Salam’s comments come as a response to the invitation of the American and British Ministers of Foreign Affairs calling for an immediate cease-fire in Yemen at a meeting in London which also included the UN envoy to Yemen, Ismail Wald Al Sheikh, and the Saudi Foreign Minister, without the call to lift the brutal blockade violating international laws on Yemeni people.
US Secretary of State, John Kerry, told reporters after a meeting with his British counterpart, Boris Johnson, and officials in London, “it’s time to implement an unconditional cessation of fire and then go to the negotiating table … We do not need to stress on the urgent need to end violence in Yemen”, Reuters reports.
Kerry said he and Johnson as well as Wald Al Sheikh Ahmed call for the implementation of the ceasefire “as soon as possible, which means Monday or Tuesday,” as he put it.
