Saudi Warplanes Re-Target Water Reservoirs in Hodeidah

Fighter jets of the US-backed Saudi coalition targeted, today Sunday, water reservoirs in Al Salif district in Hodeidah. In addition, a communication network has also been targeted northern Hodeidah province.
The Saudi-led coalition continues targeting water projects in various provinces, including the capital Sana’a, where an air strike targeted, January 8th of 2016 a water tank in the Al Nahdain region, Sabeen district. The tank used to feed 30 thousand people, with a storage capacity of an estimated five thousand cubic meters.
The acting Water Minister, Mohammed Shamsan, stressed in a press conference held by the local institution for water and sanitation, “that the purpose of the Saudi American aggression targeting water lines, pumps, generators, converters and buildings of the institution is to create a severe crisis because water is the lifeblood.”
According to the local institution for water and sanitation in Sana’a, the water sector losses in the capital Sana’a alone amounted to about 3 billions and 300 million riyals in a period of 6 months.
