Foreign Minister, Hisham Sharaf, handed over on Tuesday a letter from Prime minster Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Habtoor to the UN envoy Secretary General to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
The letter relates to the current international efforts and endeavors on the political peaceful settlement in Yemen
This took place during a meeting in Sana’a with the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations, Jamie McGoldrick.
The supreme political council and the national salvation government put the interests of the country and the Yemeni people as a priority to ensure real peace by ending the US-backed Saudi-led aggression against Yemen and lifting the imposed siege on the country, the minister said.
He demanded the countries of the aggression’s coalition to demonstrate their good intentions by taking the first steps of the process, including lifting of restrictions on Sana’a airport and re-open it.
