FM Condemns Deterring Hodeidah Port’s Cranes by Saudi Aggression
January 29 / Yamanyoon
Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf condemned on Sunday the continuation of the Saudi-led aggression countries in deterring four cranes presented by the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to Hodeidah Port.
Sharaf affirmed that such move locates under penalty of harming the Yemeni people and deliberately denigrates the reputation, work and functions of the international organizations working under the supervision of the United Nations.
He called for a rapid and immediate intervention by the UN Secretary General’s special envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh, to fix the humanitarian issue of the cranes.
The cranes will contribute in restoring the operational capacity of the port after it has been destroyed by the Saudi American aggression, and they will alleviate the consequences of the humanitarian catastrophe taking place in Yemen, Sharaf added.
The foreign minister urged the new American administration to take a clear and explicit position regarding the actions of the aggression and its allies, which do not serve the peace-loving nations and the international organizations working in the humanitarian field.
