The medical staff of the Republican Hospital in Mahweet relaunched an appeal on Thursday for help to avert the closure of the hospital’s doors on providing medical and therapeutic services to patients. The continuous Saudi American aggression and siege continue to suffocate hospitals by not allowing the entry of medical and therapeutic requirements, such as the Republican hospital whom is fighting to keep its doors open.
Among the most important components of the hospital is the dialysis center, which will end its services as a result of the scarcity of equipment and capabilities needed. The dialysis center is added to the list of centers closed, threatening the lives of 80 patients with kidney failure, according to the hospital’s administration.
Director of the Center for Dialysis, Dr. Abdo Mzraq, stated that the lack of payment of salaries due to the transition of the central bank caused the interruption of millions of riyals a month, which were deducted by local authorities for patients with dialysis. The amount of money was very beneficial in providing the water for dialysis.
On the other hand, the financial director of the hospital, Hamear Al-Azzaki, said that the hospital is on the brink of collapse unless remedied by the competent authority, the government of rescue and international organizations, especially humanitarian ones.
