The Presidency of the House of Representatives Welcomes the Decision of the European Parliament

“The European Parliament had adopted in February 2016 a resolution on the humanitarian situation in Yemen including the invitation of the European Union countries to ban arms to Saudi Arabia, which heads an alliance military intervention in Yemen.” The Presidency of the Council of Representatives said in a statement issued today.

While the Presidency of the House of Representatives expressed its thanks to the European Parliament on this resolution, called for follow-up implementation and considers it a correct step to stop the war crimes and massacres committed by the countries of the aggression coalition led by Saudi Arabia against innocent civilians of the Yemeni people.

The Presidency of the Council of Representatives also called on the Human Rights Council to support the Human Rights Council at its 36th session to form an independent, impartial international commission of inquiry to investigate and investigate violations of human rights, crimes and genocide committed against the Yemeni people.

The statement pointed out that the coalition of aggression launched more than 900 days of the war of genocide against the Yemeni people and the destruction of infrastructure and public and private facilities and shelling of houses on the heads of civilians and the imposition of an unjust siege by land, sea and air, which led to a shortage of basic food and medicine, and spread Many diseases and epidemics, including cholera, which spread rapidly, causing the deaths of more than two thousand and 500 people.

The Presidency of the House of Representatives called on all consciences living in different countries to look at what the aggression coalition led by Saudi Arabia and with the support of the United States of America are committing crimes that have caused tragedies and humanitarian catastrophes for the Yemeni people which can only be dealt with by practical steps that put an end to this unjust aggression And to submit to the voice of reason, logic and human conscience.

Crises are not resolved through wars, conflicts and violence, but through dialogue, understanding and the superiority of reason and logic, the Presidency of the House of Representatives confirmed.
