Heavy losses were inflicted upon Saudi-led forces on Monday in several areas across Yemen, a day after Riyadh replaced its troops in sites which lie in the border area with Yemen with mercenaries.

Al-Masirah television network reported that seven Saudi-led mercenaries were killed and injured by Yemeni Army and Popular Committees’ sniper units in Marib’s Serwah.

The Yemeni network also reported that nine other mercenaries were killed and injured in other fronts of Taiz, Jawf and Nahm.

Earlier on Sunday, Yemeni military source reported that the Saudi regime had withdrew troops from most of the border sites and replace them with elements of mercenaries.

The source said that the move was in a bid to reduce its losses on the military level.

Yemen has been since March 2015 under a brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition, in a bid to restore power to fugitive former president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Tens of thousands of Yemenis have been injured and martyred in Saudi-led strikes, with the vast majority of them are civilians.

However, the allied forces of the army and popular committees established by Ansarullah revolutionaries have been heroically confronting the aggression with all means.

The Saudi-led coalition – which also includes UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan and Kuwait – has been also imposing a blockade on the impoverished country’s ports and airports as a part of the aggression.
