Yemen Army Targets Saudi Mercenaries with Homegrown Missile
Yamanyoon- 21 Nov 2017
Yemen’s army and Popular Committees fired a homegrown ballistic missile at the position of Saudi-backed militants in the northern province of Marib.
The Yemeni forces fired on Monday a ballistic missile, Zilzal 1, on gatherings of Saudi mercenaries at Nehm district in Marib province, a military official told Yemen’s Saba News Agency.
The missile hit the target accurately in Yam area at the Nehm district, the official added.
In the meantime, at least 50 Saudi mercenaries were killed and wounded when the army and Popular Committees repelled enemy attacks east of Nehm district in Marib province, an army official told Saba News Agency on Monday.
In another development, the Saudi warplanes on Monday launched four strikes into residential buildings in Khawlan and Nehm districts east of the capital Sana’a, an official told Saba.
Also, in major Red Sea port of al-Hodeidah, west of Yemen, at least two fishermen were killed and two others wounded on Monday when Saudi-led coalition Apache helicopters targeted them in Khokha district, a military official told Saba.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against Yemeni people in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
